It’s what makes Curtis Mills, Billow co-owner and Head Foodie, so excited to smoke delicious meats, veggies, and mac & cheese. And it’s what inspired the name for Billow RVA, where Curtis and his wife and co-owner, Doran McBride, are smokin’ good food.

In early spring of 2024, Doran decided to leave her 30-year career in IT to help Curtis, an elementary school music teacher, gifted musician, and talented cook to start the food business they’d always dreamed of. Together, Curtis and Doran are having so much fun experimenting with menus, catering private parties, making and teaching others about sourdough bread, and learning all about the business. And when they’re not cooking, they love spending time with their kids Hillary and Lucas.
